The first edition of the House of Cards workshop is a collaborative project organized between Owais Husain and the LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore. During the three-day workshop, Husain worked with 15 students selected by the college from the Visual Arts and Film departments to participate in a creative discussion and produce a work around the topic of identity and how the evolution of image making can have an effect on it. The images created by the students from the workshop are then combined with Husain's into one collaborative sculpture. The idea is that work incorporates not only Husain’s own voice and imagery on the concept of identity but also the voices and imagery from the next generation of artists. The creative journey is also filmed and incorporated into the overall installation of the final work.
