A creative arts workshop hosted by artist Owais Husain with the year 12 students of Dubai College. The event, which consists of a presentation and collaborative artwork, is part of Husain’s on-going efforts to foster creativity in the next generation and help them to create a personal narrative, or mythology, through the practice of art.
This two-part workshop encourages students to explore their own visual vocabulary in order to create a biographical statement through art. During the first part of the workshop Husain encourages students to think about the process of story telling, inspiring them to examine in greater depth their own personal narratives and create their own original work of art to illustrate their stories. During the second part, Husain and the students review the artworks and they are combined into a collaborative public sculpture which will be on permanent view at the school.
